Fundamentals of Family Law
Introductory workshop
Family Law training for individuals and small groups of up to five people. This 60–90 minute session covers the basics of family law and the court process, dispelling common myths and setting out the processes and timeframes you're likely to encounter, so you're better placed to support the individuals and families you work with.
The session runs as an informal discussion, and can focus on a particular topic if that's more useful for your team. Your trainer stays available for questions for a period afterwards.
Fundamentals of Family Law
CPD accredited workshop
A CPD-accredited training programme in the fundamentals of family law, designed for professionals who support families through separation, divorce, and domestic abuse, but who aren't lawyers themselves. Delivered to charities, churches, schools, and professional teams, the training is built around real case studies and gives your team the confidence to recognise legal issues accurately, and the clarity to know what falls inside (and outside) their role.
This course is highly recommended for:
Charities and support services working with survivors of domestic abuse
Churches and faith organisations
IDVAs, Beacon Co-ordinators and other frontline support roles
Therapists, divorce coaches and mediators
Financial advisors working with separating clients
GPs and school staff who encounter family breakdown in their work
Training is delivered in person and takes place over half a day (2.5-3 hours), covering 6 modules, including case studies.
“Such useful training! Today will enable my team to focus more clearly on what they can do to support survivors through the court process. Engaging training and informative too” - Bekah Legg, CEO, Restored
Fundamentals of Family Law
One to One Sessions
One-to-one sessions of around 60 minutes, focused on a specific area of family law relevant to your work. Sessions can cover general principles or a bespoke topic, from the divorce process, the court’s approach to financial settlements, through to domestic abuse and coercive control, tailored to what's most useful for you.
Supervision
According to LawCare’s Life In the Law Report 2025, 56% of lawyers surveyed said that they could see themselves leaving their current workplace within the next 5 years. 32% were “not likely” to recommend a career in law and 59.1% were found to have poor mental wellbeing. High levels of work intensity combined with low levels of psychological safety are undermining mental health in the legal sector. LawCare explains that law firms need to be “moving beyond reactive support to actively putting in place preventative measures and embedding workplace practices that protect mental health and wellbeing.”
Reflective Supervision is a forum which offers a safe and confidential, structured space for people working within the legal sector to discuss anything that is happening in their personal or work lives that is affecting their wellbeing or ability to perform well at work. Your supervisor will support you in working through any challenges, facilitating these sessions with careful prompts, patience and understanding.
Supervision is offered both face to face or remotely, as one to one or group sessions.

“After our session last month, I felt so much more positive. I still feel the issues are there. But I did feel better equipped to deal with them” - Associate Family Solicitor
